Giovanni Magri was born in 1950 in a small village in the Bologna area. An eclectic and talented artist, he is known for his extraordinary craftsmanship and overwhelming creativity. Graduated as a surveyor, Giovanni is an introverted and shy person, but he has golden hands that allow him to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.
His interest in art has always accompanied his life: he studied with passion, followed the evolution of the artistic scene, and attended numerous exhibitions, acquiring valuable skills. His artistic growth was further enriched by his collaboration with his wife, an internationally renowned artist, with whom he shared experiences, projects, and creative visions.
His early works were of a pictorial nature, but his artistic research did not stop there. He explored conceptual and material art, creating unique works that reflect his continuous experimentation. He also created innovative compositions using recycled materials, demonstrating great sensitivity towards the environment and sustainability.
A particularly significant aspect of his artistic journey is the creation of polymaterial artistic frames, with a structure of bas-reliefs. These frames, used to frame his wife's works, not only add a touch of elegance and originality to his creations but also represent a perfect fusion of art and craftsmanship, further enhancing the value of the exhibited works.
Thanks to his technical training, Magri developed both garden and contemporary art sculptures, using recycled materials innovatively. His works reflect a perfect synthesis of technique and creativity, integrating pop, playful, and philosophical themes. His art is a continuous evolution, fueled by the fertility of his thought and his extraordinary craftsmanship.
The artist's exhibitions have spanned internationally, participating in over 15 art festivals by invitation in countries such as Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Romania. His works have been enthusiastically received in reference galleries, consolidating his reputation in the contemporary art world.
Giovanni Magri's art is an ongoing journey, an incessant exploration that reflects his vast creativity and his ability to constantly reinvent himself. His artistic production is a testament to his passion, talent, and dedication to art.
